Damaris, Devizes group member and resident at the Bupa home in Market Lavington, has been knitting scarves for the troops in Afghanistan with the encouragement of the Bupa staff. Manager Debs Tilney sent the scarves to her son’s regiment and they replied with a letter to Damaris and a photo of the ‘boys’ wearing the scarves. Damaris is mightily proud and so she should be.
Dear Damaris,
I attach a photo of some of us wearing the scarves you so kindly knitted for us, along with another photo of us out on operations in Afghanistan. They are very much appreciated during this cold spell in Afghanistan. We are very grateful to all those who show us their support from back at home, but these wonderful scarves, which must have taken such a huge amount of time to knit, really take the biscuit! Having someone willing to give so much of their time to support us in what we do out here makes the whole ordeal seem so much more worthwhile.
Thank you from all of us in the Warthog Group and all our best wishes for the New Year.
Angus
